Endure24, which took place for the first time in 2012 as Run24, is back for 2013 and takes place over the weekend of 8-9 June 2013.
The 2012 race concept was based on a tagline of ‘Run Camp Eat Sleep Run’ which captured the spirit perfectly, whilst this year’s event philosophy is ‘Life begins at the end of your comfort zone’, encouraging endurance runners of all levels to get involved.
Endure24 is a 24 hour individual and team relay taking place in the scenic Wasing Park Estate in Aldermaston near Reading, Berkshire. The 24 hour race is run over an 8 km / 5 mile loop of woodland trails, welcoming both experienced ultra runners and endurance virgins. There is free camping for runners, their families and friends, as well as entertainment, 24 hour catering, luxury hot showers and 24 hour sports massages to keep everyone going throughout the 24 hour period.
Runners can enter as solo runners, pairs and teams of either 3-5 or 6-8 runners in mixed, male or female categories, and Endure24 is a fantastic opportunity for club runners, corporate teams or charity runners to get together for a weekend of bonding and racing. The race will start at noon on Saturday 8th June and finish at noon on Sunday 9th June 2013, and the aim is simple – to run as many laps as possible in the 24 hour period. It’s up to each runner how many laps they complete and how fast they run, although the organisers recommend that runners should be able to run 10k comfortably. Please refer to the info page on the website for the full terms and conditions, including details about night running and feed stations.
Registration to Endure24 is open and costs £65 for solo runners, £90 for pairs and £180 - £240 for teams, which includes a race t-shirt and free camping on site. Entries will close when the maximum capacity of 2,000 runners has been reached. Please go to www.endure24.co.uk for further details and to register.
