Oulton Park Spring Duathlon
The Oulton Park Spring Duathlon, a qualifier for the 2013 ETU Standard and Sprint Distance Duathlon European Championships, takes place on Sunday 17th March 2013.
Featuring a sprint as well as a standard distance race, the Oulton Park Spring Duathlon is open to elite, amateur and novice racers.
The standard distance race incorporates a 8.6 km run (2 laps) followed by an exhilarating 38.7 km cycle (9 laps) and a final run lap of 4.3 km, totalling 51.6 km. Sprint distance competitors will start with a 4.3 km run (1 lap), followed by a 21.5 km cycle (5 laps) and a final run lap of 4.3 km, covering a total distance of 30.1 km.
The Oulton Park Spring Duathlon is the perfect race to kick off the 2013 season for athletes of all levels whilst giving the elite field the opportunity to qualify for the ETU Standard and Sprint Duathlon European Championships later in the year. The venue is one of the country's finest motor racing circuits and offers many unique features including a traffic free race track, super smooth tarmac, transition in the pits and a banked hairpin, which all make for some awesome racing. The organizers will also be using state of the art lap counting technology.
Entry costs are £42 for individual entries or £55 for team entries which includes numbered racking and electronic chip timing. The prize givings take place after the event, with prizes awarded in the following categories:
- overall winners (male and female)
- male and female age groups
- relay team prize
- club prize (first 3 athletes from the same club)
- novice prize
